Radon is a naturally occurring gas from the soil. It is formed from uranium and radium decay and seeps through the cracks in the soil.

This process eventually ends up in trapped in homes through cracks within the foundation/crawlspaces. Also, well water can contain radon as well. However, this is less of a concern.

It is colorless, orderless, and tasteless. This makes it undetectable without proper equipment.

It is important to take care of your radon problem. Radon produces RDP's (Radon Decay Products) which are radioactive particles. These particles are actually the products that cause lung cancer.

It is estimated to cause around 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year, more than alcohol related driving incidents which is around 13,000 deaths each year.

The only way we can know about radon issues within homes is testing. You can either hire a professional or do a DIY test yourself.
